The soul
of the
space.

With twenty-five years of curatorial practice and a deep knowledge of South American art, we build collections for private spaces: art pieces chosen for specific walls, specific light, specific lives. Yachay is the Quechua word for inhabiting a place — being at home in it — and it describes precisely what we believe a collection should do. The process begins with a visit. What arrives is a private contemporary art collection.

A piece of art in a museum belongs to everyone who stands in front of it. A piece of art in your home belongs to the daily texture of your life. It is there in the morning. It shifts as the light does.

It accumulates meaning from years of daily encounter in a way that no museum visit can replicate. This is what we are curating for — not an installation, not an acquisition, but a long relationship between art and the people who live with it.

Curation + Connection

The Team

Claudia Chavez Davila

Founder & CEO

Claudia grew up in close contact with Lima's art world and has spent her career at the intersection of South American art and international communications. Based now in Ibiza, having previously lived in London, she brings a curatorial practice shaped by both deep regional knowledge and an international perspective. Her work with Yachay focuses on collector relationships, the long-term development of each collection, and the artists whose work she believes in.

Juanfran Melgar de la Puente

Co-Founder & Chief Curator

Juanfran is a painter and curator with twenty-five years of experience working with South American artists. His practice is built on direct relationships with artists across Peru and the wider region — he knows the studios, the galleries, the work, and the people behind it. At Yachay, he leads the selection and curation process, working from a single principle: that the right work in the right space changes how a home feels to live in.

Cloë Blok

Art Relations & Networking Coordinator

Cloë grew up in the Netherlands surrounded by artists and creative communities, developing an early connection to the arts through both personal and professional experience. Based in Ibiza for the past five years, she has worked across PR and client relations, building strong connections within the island's international and creative networks. Her close knowledge of Ibiza's cultural landscape and the artists who live and work there brings a local perspective to her work at Yachay. She focuses on client relationships, artist liaison, and creating thoughtful connections between collectors, spaces, and contemporary art.

Yachay art is for private spaces, not galleries. That is the point.
