About Us
Yachay is a Quechua word — the language of the Andes, spoken across South America for more than a thousand years. It means to know something through living with it. Not knowledge acquired from instruction, but understanding that comes from proximity, from daily attention, from time. It is also the word for inhabiting a place. Being at home in it. Yachay describes precisely what we believe a collection should do.

Welcome to Yachay
With twenty-five years of curatorial practice and a deep knowledge of South American art, we curate collections for private spaces. We work with South American artists whose reputations are established and whose work is gaining international recognition.
We are not art dealers. We curate collections for the specific rooms and lives of the individuals we work with. The process begins with a visit to the space. It continues with a conversation about how you live, what moves you, and what your rooms need.
What follows is a proposal made specifically for you — works chosen for those walls, those proportions, that light. Every detail is handled: selection, framing, shipping, installation. What arrives is not decoration. It is a collection.
Acquisitions
We search, vet and negotiate on your behalf, working directly with artists and across galleries and private collections worldwide.
Network
Over twenty-five years we have built relationships with artists, galleries, conservators, logistics specialists, architects and interior designers under very particular criteria. This is what allows us to move with precision at every stage.
Collection Strategy
We build a creative concept around the space, the collector's sensibility and long-term value. The result is a collection that holds together aesthetically, intellectually and as an asset over time.
Collection Management
A collection requires ongoing attention. We handle documentation, condition monitoring, insurance guidance, valuation updates and advice on when and how to sell, or expand what you have built.
How We Do It
Yachay is a private curatorial practice. We are not a gallery. We do not show work publicly or maintain a general catalogue. We work by recommendation and by invitation only.
We prefer to visit a space — to see how it is used, how light moves through it, what it already says and what it could say instead. We learn how our collectors live — what they respond to, what they have nearly bought and didn't, what they already own and love — and where their eye keeps returning.
Then we research. Then we propose. Every work in a proposal has been chosen for that specific room and that specific person. If we cannot propose something we believe in entirely, we wait.
We work with artists from Peru and South America — painters, sculptors, photographers, and makers whose practices are among the most interesting on the continent. Yachay art is for private spaces, not galleries. That is the point.
